Seeking any and all mediums for solo or collaborative exhibitions. Artists at any stage of their career are welcome to apply. Artists must be 18 years or older to apply.
As a small gallery in St. Croix Falls, WI, we are looking to show local, national , and international artists. We offer small stipends when funding is available. Additionally we can offer an artist talk opportunity, reception, and future opportunities for residencies and exhibitions.
WHAT Art Gallery is located in Vincent House Commons, an old bank that houses WHAT and other vendors as well as special events. We consider ourselves an alternative space, which provides the potential for artists to explore new ideas and connections.
Exhibitions generally run up to 6-8 weeks.
All proposal themes are eligible, but especially welcomed are those that respond to the theme of personal experience in rural living, ideas around the importance of space (i.e. public space needed for building and maintaining community), or local history. Applications are accepted based on quality of work and community engagement statement.
Below is a detail of the spaces available. The Atrium, pictured directly below, is part of the Phantom Gallery Project and is available during the course of the project, which most recently is July 2023 - March 2024.
The Vault is WHAT Art Galleries main exhibition space.
